More than 20 000m² of TenCate ROCK® PEC55-55 stabilized the platform and saved 3000 m3 of subbase material. Additionally, this avoid an equivalent traffic of 300 trucks, leading to decrease significantly the environmental impact.
The new A1-M1 Link Road crosses soft soil areas. To ensure the stability of the embankment, a basal reinforcement using a geosynthetic had to be realized.
The embankment supporting the new A1-M1 Link Road is retained by a L shape concrete wall. To limit the earth pressure coming from the fill onto the concrete wall, an adequate drainage system was installed.
To protect the "Dohlennest" reservoir from the effects of avalanche flows it was decided to construct two protection barriers, one along the Southwest side of the reservoir and the other along the Southern side.
