TenCate Bidim® AR is a mechanically bonded continuous-filament nonwoven with an enhanced abrasion resistance. TenCate Bidim® AR combines the benefits of conventional nonwoven geotextiles with an improved resistance to abrasion stresses. It was developed for railway construction where the high mechanical stresses imposed by the ballast require special attention.

Separation
The major function of separation is to prevent two different (granular) materials from mixing under mechanical stress such as traffic. Separation maintains the functionality of the infill and extends the service life of the structure.
Filtration
The major function of filtration is to prevent the destabilisation of the soil by internal flows.
Reinforcement
The major function of Reinforcement is to guarantee the stability of structures.
Drainage
The major function of draining is to evacuate water or other liquids towards the structure’s outlets.
